Chewbacca Han Solo Darth Vader Stormtrooper Jawa

Tusken Raider Death Squad
Commander
As every one knows,
these are the original 12 figures that started everything off. Kenner's
first release of Star
Wars figures came in the form of the "Early Bird Certificate" that parents
ordered through Kenner. The figures weren't ready for the Christmas rush,
so instead the parents were sent an early bird kit. This kit among other
things, contained a certificate that could be redeemed for the first 4
Star Wars figures in the line-up. When the figures arrived, the lucky little
kids received - Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2D2, and Chewbacca. Obviously,
all these figures have become valuable collectibles, but the most valuable
one is the infamous vinyl caped jawa! Shortly after releasing the jawa,
Kenner decided to change the cloak from the vinyl version to a cloth cloak.
The change was made to add value to the small figure. This carded figure
is now worth thousands of dollars! Kenner added eight more figures
to the collection and they were as follows:

Death Star Droid Hammer Head Walrusman R5-D4

Greedo Power Droid Snaggletooth Luke X-Wing Pilot
The latter figures came with a mail-away offer for a new character that was to be seen by everyone in the upcoming "Empire Strikes Back" movie. That figure was a "rocket firing" Boba Fett. People were upset that when the mail order figure arrived it had been changed and no longer had the "rocket firing" feature, but a secure missile in the back of his jet pack. Some controversy had arisen over another toy that had the firing missile feature ( Battlestar Galactica ) and the toy had caused a child to be injured. Kenner decided that it would be in the best interest of everybody to modify the figure. Consumers received a notice about the change when they received their figure. The prototype versions of this "rocket firing" figure are also extremely valuable and have turned up, most likely from sources that worked inside Kenner. The "firing" figure never got to the production level. With the high value of this figure many frauds are known to exist as the firing mechanism can be faked with relative ease.Another mail in offer was for an undisclosed "secret figure" that kids could send away for from Hasbro. Both the rocket firing Fett and the secret figure required the customer to purchase four other Star Wars figures. That "secret figure" turned out to be the bounty hunter Bossk.
